The moon high up in the sky
Stars radiating light, filled to the brim
With a blanket draped over
An awake mind, full of thoughts
Suffocated with shattered dreams

Throat constricted with emotions
Burning up like a pit of fire
That's when she knew
She was definitely a goner

It wasn't uncommon
The rain that fell after the sunlight fled
Yet she forced herself to stand still, stay strong
Because it wasn't enough, what she had bled

She was drowning
That's what she believed
Suddenly daylight shone through-
She could finally breathe.
